Feasibility study for the realization of a residential area and an hotel in Salalah in the Dhofar Governorate (Sultanate of Oman). The project was developed starting from a study of the place’s morphology, joining the customer’s requirements, trying to give to the project an european edit, even if we kept the typical charcteristics of the middle East culture. The structure of the grid that drawing the arcade and the shade’s paths are born from the typical native vegetation of the area, the palm tree, and it has a basic function for the protection against the insulation. It allows to walk into the commercial mall. The central path, that develops itself and enlivens the distribution and the around organization of the buildings, wants to remember the rivers already dried that they are behind the residential zone, into the most desert area. We wanted to bring inside the project the water with fountains and pools, to highlight the essential importance of it and the big presence of the greenery, wanted with the choice of the green roofs.
